This weekend, the Don’t Let Belgrade Drown Movement is participating in a regional meeting of green parties and movements organized by the European Green Party and the Civic Movement URA in Bečići, Montenegro. More than fifty participants from thirteen countries from the region and the whole of Europe will discuss the future of green policies in the region, as well as regional and continental models of cooperation between green actors.
This event is also a meeting of the first “Green Balkan Network“, where representatives of the Don’t Let Belgrade Drown Movement will have the opportunity to share their experience and discuss improving cooperation with relevant representatives of green policies from our region and Europe.
This regional meeting brought together more than fifty actors from thirteen countries with the desire to open up a space for talks on alternatives and green policies, which are becoming one of the most important topics in Serbia and throughout our region. “The Don’t Let Belgrade Drown Movement is very pleased with the growing space that green options are receiving throughout the region. We already have a very successful cooperation with our green partners in the immediate neighborhood, such as Civic Movement URA from Montenegro and the Možemo! platform from Croatia, and we are also actively working on becoming a member of the European Green Party. We are very glad to have the opportunity to be a part of a network that will deal with green-left policies at the regional level, which our movement has been advocating for years. The recent successes stories from our partners in the Balkans have sparked optimism, and we think that Don’t Let Belgrade Drown is ready to continue bringing green-left changes to our country as well,” said Dobrica Veselinović.
